Three ingredients of a great App Store screenshot

Published 2026-08-10 · 5 min read

People spend only a few seconds flipping through App Store screenshots. Effective screenshots are not "interface showcases" — they explain value in three seconds.

Ingredient 1: Sell the value in the first three frames

The first frame answers "what is this", the second "what's the benefit", the third "why you". Lead with your strongest selling point instead of a flat feature list.

Ingredient 2: Clear visual hierarchy

Arrange headline, subtitle and device shot in a rhythm, keep the background clean and consistent. Keep text contrast high (dark text on light backgrounds, white on dark) so it stays readable even at thumbnail size.

Ingredient 3: Standard status bar and brand consistency

Pin the status bar to 9:41 with full signal and battery so the whole set looks official; keep colors and fonts consistent with your brand so users recognize you at a glance in the list.

Nail these three things, export in one click with 941Mock, and your App Store page will look noticeably more professional.
